Dead cicadas I’ve seen so far: Seems like about ten thousand.

Live cicadas I’ve seen so far: Maybe four or five.

Live cicadas I’ve seen in my own yard: Zero.

That’s right, none. I can’t even hear them, and it seems that Glen Burnie, Maryland has missed the plague entirely, making my backyard a blissful enclave of peace and quiet.

Baltimore has cicadas aplenty, but only if you count the squashed dead ones. Yech.

“I’m going to bring some cicadas home from work so the kitties can play with them,” said Scott. Engineers always have the brightest ideas.

In the meantime, here are some plagues of truly biblical proportions, courtesy of The Brick Testament. It’s amazing what you can do with Legos, even if there aren’t any convincing Lego locusts.
